Attractions

Roanoke Island Festival Park - This is a great place to let the kids run around and stretch their legs. The Festival Park is home to the Elizabeth II, a replica of a 16th century sailing ship, and it looks like a pirate ship! Explore the ship and stick around for the presentation that includes real cannon fire. After shooting the water cannons on the Sea Gypsy this is sure to get the kids attention.

The North Carolina Aquarium - The Aquarium is located about 5 minutes outside the town of Manteo and is home to all sorts of sea creatures sure to fascinate your children while staying at the beach. Check out the Sea Otters, Captain Chum's favorite friends!

Island Farm - The Island Farm is a living history site, interpreting daily life on Roanoke Island in the mid-1800s. The combination of history and farm animals makes this attraction fun for mates of all ages. Coupons available at our store for those who have sailed with us!

Native Island - Stand up paddle boarding is an easy, healthy way to experience the Outer Banks waterways first-hand. Native Island offers paddle board rentals, lessons, and ecotours. Located next door to Pirate Adventures this is ideal for families who might want to send their teenagers on an adventure while their littles ones are out looking for treasure! Native Island offers a $5 discount on lessons for Pirate Adventure customers.

Where to Eat

The Magnolia Grille - The Magnolia Grille is located right next to check-in for Pirate Adventures and offers indoor and outdoor dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Magnolia Grille is family friendly and is a great place to feed the kids, and with beers on tap - also a great place to feed the grown-ups!

Poor Richards Sandwich Shop - Poor Richards is located on the waterfront and has outdoor seating right on the docks. Poor Richards is also a great place to feed the kids before or after a Pirate Adventure. The breakfast at Poor Richard's can't be beat!

Ortega'z Southwestern Grill and Wine Bar - With a definite southwestern flair, and a relaxed, casual atmosphere, you can enjoy lunch or dinner on the covered outdoor patio or in either of the two dining rooms.
