The Sea Gypsy IV makes her home in the waterfront town of Manteo on historic Roanoke Island a short drive from the beaches of Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, and Kitty Hawk. Roanoke Island is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon away from the beach. The island is home to the Roanoke Island Festival Park, an aquarium, and the Lost Colony. The town of Manteo has a waterfront boardwalk complete with unique shops and restaraunts.

North Carolina Aquarium - Head out on the water to look for sunken treasure and then complete the day with a visit to the North Carolina Aquarium. About a 10 minute drive from Pirate Adventures, this is a great place for kids and is located right on the sound with plenty of room for kids to run. Check out Captain Chum's favorite friends, the River Otters! The Aquarium also has a touch pool and a shark tank.

Roanoake Island Festival Park - Home of the Elizabeth II and a short walk from the Manteo docks. The Elizabeth II is a replica of 16th century sailing ship - it looks like a pirate ship! Also a great place to let your kids stretch their legs and soak in some history of the sailing and early life on the North Carolina Coast.

Poor Richards - Serving breakfast and lunch and located right across from the pirate ship. Poor Richards is the perfect place to take hungry pirates before or after an adventure. Outdoor deck and friendly service included.
